JCU is based in Townsville, QLD. JCU operates three campuses at the following places: Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns and an offshore campus in Singapore. Notable fields of research cover marine sciences, biodiversity, sustainable management of tropical ecosystems, tropical health care and tourism. JCU was one of the early universities to offer tourism studies, and has made a name for itself as a leader in tourism education. Student enrollment stands at 16,000 which includes 3,450 international students.
